Using specific devices, in a VR-STAR® application, users can execute in real time all the actions they can perform in the real world, simulating the functioning of different equipment/processes, as well as simulate chemical/physical reactions.

ABOUT THE PLATFORM

A powerful virtual-training where a photorealistic 3D graphic reproduction of industrial environments, weather conditions and gestures, involves the user in a sort of navigation through a faithful reproduction of the plant, making possible a true interaction, such as open and close hand-operated valves, start and stop pumps, carry out field readings and get information about the inside functioning of devices*.

One of the best application we have been experimented in this technology, is in the Oil &Gas industry where, cause of the high level of professionalism required, 3D Real Time Virtual Reality simulation delivers BENEFITS in several spheres, such as allowing Previsualization of plants and Virtual Commissioning, facilitating the Risk Management (HSE policies), simplifying the Maintenance and Repair Operation (MRO), supplying and improving users’ Performances in Operational Processes by the simulation of industrial procedures.

*VR-STAR® works on variable principle, thus the user, through its choices, can generate consequences on the device or the plant where is operating; it is possible to simulate chemical/physical reactions as well. Over all, the platform allows to visualize how failure processes are working during a bad functioning simulation, thanks to specific 3D cut-sections which describe the right steps to achieve the intervention.

VRStarLogo1_Icon_Color  OPEN SOURCE 3D VIRTUAL REALITY ENGINE. An open source VR engine with full access to the core code, which allows: detecting of the cyber security threats, perfect mapping of processes and procedures.

NB 3rd party commercial engines do not allow access to the core code!

 

VRStarLogo1_Icon_Color  DYNAMIC SIMULATION OF PHYSICAL-CHEMICAL EVENTS. It is possible by:

  • using proprietary chemical-physical simulator
  • connecting to third party chemical-physical simulator
  • connecting to DCS applications/control room

NB VR-STAR® provides an open black box for integration with 3rd party simulators and is already integrated with Dynsim by Invensys/Shneider, Unisim Design Suite by Honeywell, Aspen HYSYS Dynamics by Aspentech.

 

VRStarLogo1_Icon_Color  SIMULATION OF MECHANICAL-PHYSICAL EVENTS (KINEMATICS). Possibility to simulate events like movements of objects based on their weight, using kinematics simulation engines that works on mathematical models.

KINEMATICS is mandatory for maintenance repair operation (MRO) simulation.

The Remote Training Center show with precision how tasks and activities need to be executed and completed.

VRStarLogo1_Icon_Color   CONNCECTION TO PLANT MAPS. It gives the possibility to drill down and access different layers of information (e.g. surveillance cameras).

This enhance a better support to safety in critical situations, risky interventions, ordinary and extraordinary operations, activities and plant security.

After action Review allows follow-up on training sessions to reach higher efficacy levels. A dedicated UI widget with the controls necessary to record a training session. Recorded session can be played back to analyze multiple field operator’s performance for a specific scenario
